Christmas Charity, 2020: ‘Embrace the Middle East’

St Peter’s has recently committed to conducting two fundraisers over the course of the next year for an organisation called Embrace the Middle East. The first is for our 2020 Christmas Appeal.

With over 160 years of experience, Embrace the Middle East is a Christian charity which helps people of all faiths and none to free themselves from a life of poverty and injustice. Together with local Christian communities, they bring lasting change to the Middle East through healthcare, education and community development projects.

Their Vision is to transform lives and communities in the Middle East by the compassion of Christ.

Their Mission is to partner with Middle East Christians as they bring healing and hope to all who face poverty and injustice.

Please take a look at the website for loads of information about their partnerships across the Middle East, as well as volunteer opportunities, ethical gift ideas and ways to support their great work. https://www.embraceme.org/

How to give: During Advent and Christmas, there will be a basket at the back of church for those who wish to donate via cash or through a white Gift Aid envelope. These envelopes are available at the back of church and please remember to write the value of the donation, and ‘Christmas Charity’ on the envelope. If this isn’t possible then write to the Gift Aid Secretary, Chris Hodgson and he will assign the donation accordingly. Chris can be contacted via the church office: office@stpetersedinburgh.org

If, due to the pandemic you are unable to give within church itself, donations can still be made directly through the ‘Embrace the Middle East’ website: https://www.embraceme.org/
