With our new Link building almost complete, St Peter’s was open to the public on Saturday 28 September from 10 am – 2 pm, as part of the Doors Open Day Festival.
Over 100 people came to:
- Get a first glimpse of our new Link Building
- Learn about some of the local and global families and individuals who have been part of St Peter’s over the past 159 years
- Enjoy a coffee & cake and/or soup and a roll at our pop up cafe in the hall
- Live musical entertainment
The new Link building has created an extra community room, lift access joining the church and hall together, new and accessible toilets and a bright new kitchen. It was made possible thanks to the generosity of Viridor Landfill Tax Credits, The Robertson Trust, Allchurches Trust, The Baird Trust, Swinton Paterson Trust and the congregation of St Peter’s Lutton Place.
The new Link building is the second of three phases in a £1.2 million project. Our ambition is for St Peter’s church halls give another 80 years of community service and continue to bring local people together.
At the 10.45 Service on Sunday 3rd November, we will be celebrating the completion of Phase 2, and the service will end with the Link being blessed.
