More information on Sunday services:

8:30 am Holy Communion

This spoken Morning Prayer and Communion follow the 1929 Prayer Book. There is no music and, on the first Sunday of each month, there is no sermon.

10:45 am Service

1st Sunday: Sung Mattins in the Church with the choir and organ. This follows the 1929 Prayer Book and sometimes includes a choral version of a Canticle. Also, an All-Age Communion service is held in the hall that is contemporary in style and music. It uses a simple Liturgy and is led by an informal choir and instrumentalists.

2nd, 4th & 5th Sunday: Communion service that follows the 1982 Liturgy, with choir and organ, and the congregational Communion Setting is usually either by David Sanger, Noel Rawsthorne or David Jenkins. On a 5th Sunday, the choir sometimes sings a version of one movement of a choral Mass Setting. For children, Sunday’s Cool is held during these services, with the children leaving the main service at different times depending on their age. Everyone returns in time for Communion.

3rd Sunday: Communion service that usually follows the 1970 Liturgy, with choir and organ, and the Communion Setting is by Merbecke. For children, Sunday’s Cool is held during these services, with the children leaving the main service at different times depending on their age. Everyone returns in time for Communion.

Mothering Sunday, Pentecost, St Peter’s Day and one Sunday in December: On these occassions we have an All-Age Service with Communion in the church. This follows a simple Liturgy, and mixes traditional with contemporary music using both the organ and instrumentalists as appropriate.

6:30 pm Evening Services

1st and 5th Sunday: Compline, which follows the 1929 Prayer Book.

2nd Sunday: Nightkirk. This is a quiet service with a variety of areas for prayer and meditation.

3rd Sunday: Healing service. An opportunity to pray for healing and wholeness in the lives of others and the world.

4th Sunday: Choral Evensong. Sung evening service that follows the 1929 Prayer Book. See the Music List for more details.

Check services for the week for further details as they sometimes change.
