For Palm Sunday, Revd Sue Whitehouse has prepared an Order of Service for private reflection:
As we cannot hand out Palm Crosses this week, one could make one with paper, thin card, or the long leaf of a flower such as a daffodil. If you want to make one, this YouTube clip is very good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcmeCOf-b4k (Hint, if you use a daffodil leaf, cut off the ends so there is no very pointed end.)
It would be great to share photos of everybody’s Palm Crosses on the Facebook page, and once yours is made, please do post it on the Facebook page!
For our children, Kristee has sent this link put together by Claire Benton-Evans, the Edinburgh Diocesan Youth and Children Officer. It contains a variety of fun ideas and activities for the children to do during Holy Week. These can be found at: https://edinburgh.anglican.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Easter-2020-resources.pdf
Once again, another option of worship is to join an online service from the Scottish Episcopal Church at 11am. This week it is from the home of Bishop Andrew of Brechin Diocese. To connect you to the service: http://www.scotland.anglican.org/broadcast-sunday-worship/ and then click on ‘Our Facebook page’ or ‘Our YouTube’.
As Holy Week approaches, Bishop John has recorded his reflections on living through Holy Week while we are in isolation. These are shared in the following link: https://edinburgh.anglican.org/2020/04/bishop-john-reflects-on-holy-week-and-christian-ministry-in-a-time-of-isolation/
