Concert for Organ and Flute

This concert for Organ and Flute being held by Scottish Arts Club in St Peter’s, features Michael Bonaventure on Organ and Richard Craig on Flute. Michael is my predecessor here, and sometimes deputises on a Sunday morning.
It is a new project called “PNEUMA”, the duo of flautist/improviser. Funding from Creative Scotland was given to pursue the project, with Michael and Richard joining forces to combine their experience in promoting contemporary and new music.
The programme will include pieces by Edward McGuire, Iain Matheson (who lives in Rankeillor Street), Karlheinz Stockhausen (“Tierkreis”), and flute solos of earlier music by Guillaume de Machaut and Hildegard de Bingen, played by Richard. Additionally, they have both composed new works for flute and organ combination, and both of these will also be featured.
