Community Meal: Saturday 14th May, 5pm

This community meal, funded by Building Bridges and hosted by St Peter’s Episcopal Church, will be prepared by a wonderful local Syrian family.

Now that Hadil’s parents, Faten and Huda, have safely arrived from Aleppo, Syria, to live with Hadil’s family here in Edinburgh, this fund-raising event in partnership with Building Bridges, starts at 5pm.  For many at St Peter’s it will be the first opportunity to meet Huda and Faten.

Come along and meet Mouaz, Hadil and Bachir, as well as Huda and Faten. They will be cooking a traditional Syrian meal, dessert and serving delicious Arabic coffee!

B.Y.O.B. Vegetarian options will be available.

We are currently trying or organise additional entertainment of some form but, at the least, there will be Syrian music during the evening!

St Peter’s made a commitment to contribute to their living expenses during their first year when they are not entitled to benefits. The cost of the visas, tickets, bedding, etc, had been covered by the initial donations. Faten and Huda are now living with Hadil, Mouaz and Bachir, and our help has made it possible for them all to unite here in Edinburgh after a long separation.

All funds raised will go directly to support this family with cost of living here in Edinburgh.

Places are very limited, so please book fast! Cost is £12 per person.
