A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this lovely evening, including setting up, welcoming, clearing and cleaning and those who came along to support the event. Also, a special thank you to Ian Gibson for popping by on his break to sort out the sound system and to David Healey for coming along and taking photos before rushing home to his own dinner!
Catered by Bantaba Afro Caribbean Restaurant, the food was amazing, as were the interviews of Dominic, Fatou and Gambian musician, Abdullah. I’ve since been contacted by the Gambian Community in Edinburgh asking if we can put on an event together sometime soon. This is great, as it’s precisely why we are doing these meals – to form new connections and friendships with our neighbours here in Scotland!
We have a couple of ideas for future community meals in the works, including an Iranian meal, so stay tuned!
